Reintroducing the inventor of the Bag for Life to a new generation of innovators

The Story
Virginia (Gini) Holden is best known as the inventor of the iconic Bag for Life, a retail innovation that transformed shopping habits around the world. Decades later, she was preparing to launch her next venture: AnniQ, an AI-powered marketing platform designed to make world-class marketing expertise accessible to small businesses.
Tuesday Media was appointed to introduce both founder and business to the UK market. The challenge wasn’t simply launching a new technology platform. It was repositioning Gini from retail innovator to AI entrepreneur, creating a compelling narrative that connected her track record of changing consumer behaviour with her latest mission to democratise marketing through artificial intelligence.
Through strategic storytelling, founder profiling and targeted PR, we developed a communications strategy that established credibility, built visibility and positioned Gini as a thought leader in AI, marketing and female entrepreneurship.

New founder narrative
When Capital Enterprise needed to Virginia (Gini) Holden had already transformed the retail industry as the inventor of the iconic Bag for Life. Her latest venture, however, presented a very different communications challenge.
AnniQ was a new AI-powered marketing platform entering a crowded and fast-moving technology market. While Gini’s track record provided instant credibility, her reputation was rooted in retail rather than artificial intelligence. The challenge was to reposition her as a technology entrepreneur while communicating AnniQ’s complex proposition in a clear, compelling way.
Alongside building awareness of the product, we needed to establish Gini as a trusted voice on AI, marketing and entrepreneurship ahead of the company’s UK launch.
Our solution
Having worked with Gini previously, we already understood her story and ambitions, allowing us to move straight into developing a strategic communications programme for AnniQ’s UK launch.
We created a three-month PR campaign, developing the key messaging, media narratives and communications toolkit that would underpin every aspect of the launch. At the heart of the strategy was a compelling story that connected Gini’s legacy as the inventor of the Bag for Life with her latest mission to democratise marketing through AI.
We then delivered a targeted media relations campaign, pitching tailored story angles to our network of business, technology and marketing journalists. Alongside launch coverage, we secured thought leadership opportunities, founder interviews, podcasts and speaking engagements, positioning Gini as a credible voice on AI, marketing and entrepreneurship while building awareness of AnniQ.
