Telling stories that count

Aug 28, 2018 · Sophie Wilson

It warms our hearts to tell stories that change the world. Here\’s some great campaigns we’ve  been privileged to work on recently.

Fundraising campaigners Sarah West and Marion Bance prepare for their media interview on Radio Reverb

Boosting heritage restoration fundraising campaign

Iconic Brighton Unitarian Church built by local architect Amon Henry Wilds and modelled on the ancient Temple of Theseus in Athens, is once again in need of help. They engaged us earlier this year to launch a fundraising appeal after surveys revealed that it\’s Doric columns were in danger of collapse. Our initial campaign secured impressive local coverage, including a prominent spread in The Argus, many shares on social media and a resultant spike in fundraising and interest in the project.

This week we launched a new campaign to drive urgency around fundraising efforts, prompted by the discovery of further damage that adds £71k to the existing repair bill. We kicked the media wheels into motion, achieving local coverage in The Argus, Brighton and Hove Independent, on charity news website Giving Times and even a broadcast interview on Radio Reverb. I\’m delighted to say that all the noise we made has resulted in £2k donations in less than one week to their new JustGiving page.

A Coverage secured for Search Seven

Smashing 50% of #share7 fundraising campaign

Throughout this year, we\’ve been helping SEO agency Search Seven achieve their goals to raise £17k for seven charities. The #share7 campaign is a key part of their 7th birthday celebrations and is in keeping with their ethos of \’passion before profit\’.

We\’ve been supporting their efforts with a targeted, ongoing PR and marketing campaign, as well as content creation and pitching and securing PR opportunities. These include two triple page spreads in the Sussex Business Times magazine, coverage in the local newspaper and a radio broadcast interview. The #share7 campaign is now at 50% of it\’s target and Search Seven has credited our publicity with not only helping them to secure further funds, but also promotion for the business, which had its most successful month ever in June. To donate, go here.

Leonard Leonard Cheshire art exhibition event

Promoting #RAF100 art exhibition

We were engaged by Leonard Cheshire, the UK\’s largest voluntary sector provider of services for disabled people, to create a campaign to promote their art exhibition at Mall Galleries. The exhibition featured specially commissioned paintings charting Leonard Cheshire’s aviation career and coincided with the RAF100 centenary celebrations. Our campaign saw us secure coverage across RAF social media pages and community groups, in London art directory titles, print coverage in FlyPast Magazine and RAF News and broadcast coverage on BFBS radio. As well as that, a mailout to 15,000 members of Rag, the military private members club, resulted in a direct increase in attendees on the day. Mission accomplished, chocs away!
